Who We Are
Family Only, also shown as Family Organizer in development builds, is a private beta app for organizing family events, plans, todos, reminders, connected calendars, and household information.
The hosted app services are operated from the Family Only website and backend at family-only.ca.
Data We Collect
The beta may collect or process the following information:
- Account information such as your name, email address, sign-in provider identifier, and profile image when provided by Google or Apple.
- Family profile information such as family name, home address if you add one, member names, roles, birthdays, and organizer status.
- App content such as plans, todos, reminders, events, notes, and finance or money records that you enter or sync.
- Connected-service information such as selected calendars, service type, sync status, account labels, and authorization tokens needed to keep connected services working.
- Technical information such as app settings, notification preferences, sync logs, API status, response times, device diagnostics, and crash or beta feedback shared through Apple TestFlight.
How We Use Data
We use this information to:
- Authenticate users and keep the correct family workspace available.
- Show personal and shared family information to the right people.
- Sync calendars, email-related signals, and app content you choose to connect.
- Send requested app notifications and show system or sync status messages.
- Troubleshoot the beta, protect the service, and improve app reliability.
- Power assistant features when you ask the app to analyze or organize information.
Connected Services
The app can connect to selected calendars or Google services only after you grant permission. Calendar events may be synced to the hosted backend so they can appear in the app's Today and Events screens.
Google Calendar and Gmail access is controlled by Google's permission flow. You can remove access in the app or from your Google Account. Gmail intelligence is planned for family and finance workflows, and its use may expand during beta development.
iPhone Calendar access is handled by iOS permissions on your device. The app syncs only the calendars you select. iCloud Mail connection is not yet implemented in the beta, and we do not ask for or collect your normal Apple Account password for iCloud Mail.
Family And Children
Family Only may contain information about family members, including children, when a parent or organizer enters it. During the beta, please use the app only for your own family testing and avoid adding information that is not needed for the household workflows you are testing.
Retention And Deletion
We keep beta data while your account, family workspace, or connected service remains active, unless a shorter retention period is needed for security, troubleshooting, or legal reasons.
Some delete controls are available in the app, and additional controls may be added as the beta matures. You can request account or data deletion by contacting us at the email below.
Security
We use HTTPS for hosted services and keep connected-service tokens on the hosted backend rather than inside public website files. Access is limited to people who need it for development, support, and beta operations.
Family Only is a beta product. Please do not rely on it for emergencies, legal obligations, medical decisions, or critical financial deadlines.
Changes To This Policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date on this page.
